In INDIA an estimated 55 million people globally are affected by droughts every year, and they are the most serious hazard to livestock and crops in nearly every part of the world. Drought threatens people’s livelihoods, increases the risk of disease and death, and fuels mass migration. Water scarcity impacts 40% of the world’s population, and as many as 700 million people are at-risk of being displaced as a result of drought by 2030.
Drought is a
recurrent phenomenon in India. About 107
million hectares of the country i.e., over 68
percent of India,
Andhra Pradesh is also worst affected area Anantapur is one such
district of Andhra Pradesh (AP) State districts of Rayalaseema Region and the
largest among the 13 districts of Andhra
Pradesh.The results showed
that, in this 33 years, from 1985 onwards
Anantapur experienced more frequent and
severe drought events.After 1985, Anantapur was experienced the
severe drought in 2003,
I selected this topic because this is major problem in our locality this as to be addressed to improve the farmer life and to attain sustainable Agriculture.
